Europe’s second-oldest porcelain manufactory, Augarten was founded in 1718 upon a daring mission to bring the secret of porcelain making to Vienna, Austria. This historic company continues its tradition as a distinguished Imperial-owned manufactory while celebrating innovative ideas and modern trends. All major design eras are represented within the archives, offering something for every collector of fine porcelain.
Noble and rich in symbolism, the rose motif has played an important role as porcelain décor since the Baroque period. In 1790, an artist from the imperial manufactory designed an ornament of individual small rose blossoms. The picturesque scattering of blossoms remained popular until the Biedermeier period. In 1923, the Augarten porcelain manufactory took up this old Viennese tradition again and stylized the rose shakers, interpreted in the taste of modernity. The “Schubert” shape, created in 1923, with its classic silhouettes and discreet ornamental details is still a classic of Viennese porcelain today.

The old question “dishwasher yes or no” depends a little bit on whether it is a newer piece or a service that has already become outdated. In principle, there is nothing wrong with cleaning in the dishwasher, as long as it does not happen daily, the short program is used and no cleaning tabs but powders are used. Otherwise, the décor could fade with time.
