Europe’s second-oldest porcelain manufactory, Augarten was founded in 1718 upon a daring mission to bring the secret of porcelain making to Vienna, Austria. This historic company continues its tradition as a distinguished Imperial-owned manufactory while celebrating innovative ideas and modern trends. All major design eras are represented within the archives, offering something for every collector of fine porcelain.
The Maria Theresa décor is one of the great classics of the Augarten porcelain manufactory. The empress laid out a Dutch flower garden at Schönbrunn, and the porcelain décor is a tribute to her love of botany. The bouquets of magnificent roses and other garden flowers, modelled on those of around 1750, are executed in deep copper green, one of the most modern color inventions of Maria Theresa’s time. The festive epoch of the Baroque is perfectly reflected in the “Mozart” form. The design of this form is as lively as the music of the time. Decorations with rich, elaborate bouquets of flowers are particularly beautiful on dinner services.
Black brush drawing, covered with green – this décor was an extraordinary innovation at the time of its creation and is still one of the manufactory’s most popular décors.

The old question “dishwasher yes or no” depends a little bit on whether it is a newer piece or a service that has already become outdated. In principle, there is nothing wrong with cleaning in the dishwasher, as long as it does not happen daily, the short program is used and no cleaning tabs but powders are used. Otherwise, the decor could fade with time.
